French radio stations fall victim to anglophone artists
“Music industry representatives convened at France's broadcast watchdog, the CSA, to discuss the quota system, which forces national radio to play 40 per cent of its songs in French, half from new artists.”
The Telegraph article also includes a quote from a music executive indicating French radio stations used 15 songs to meet 90% of the quota. OMG, that's not just heavy rotation, that's a form of torture. Even if you love a song, you can't bear to hear it that many times a day, every day, day after day.
Reading about France's quota system inspired me to create a few articles
featuring my favorite French and French language artists.
